Retinal and choroidal circulation in patients with lattice retinal degeneration: optical coherence tomography-angiography study

نویسندگان

چکیده

BACKGROUND: There are insufficient data covering retinal and choroidal microcirculation in eyes with lattice degeneration.
AIM: To investigate circulation degeneration using optical coherence tomography-angiography (OCTA).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study included 10 patients 12 healthy individuals. All subjects underwent OCTA examination of the macula. Additionally, four patients, within area was performed.
RESULTS: Retinal capillary non-perfusion, disorganization layers, a decrease choriocapillaris perfusion, thinning were found all cases. In macula, perfusion slab controls 6.40 0.21 6.19 mm2 (p 0.05), respectively. number flow voids 40.6 23.0 65.1 25.7 total 0.49 0.04 0.54 respectively.
CONCLUSIONS: status may play an important role pathophysiology degeneration.

Evaluation of Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography Findings in Patients with Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion

Purpose: To analyze the correlation of optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) findings with visual acuity (VA) in patients with branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 20 eyes of 20 patients with unilateral BRVO involving the macula referred to the ophthalmology clinic of Rassoul Akram Hospital. OCTA imaging was conducted for all patie...

Doppler optical coherence tomography of retinal circulation.

Noncontact retinal blood flow measurements are performed with a Fourier domain optical coherence tomography (OCT) system using a circumpapillary double circular scan (CDCS) that scans around the optic nerve head at 3.40 mm and 3.75 mm diameters. The double concentric circles are performed 6 times consecutively over 2 sec. The CDCS scan is saved with Doppler shift information from which flow can...

Retinal and Choroidal Microvasculature in Nonarteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy: An Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography Study.

Purpose To analyze retinal and choroidal microvasculature in patients with nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) by using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A). Methods In this case-control retrospective observational study, patients with atrophic NAION (at least 3 months after onset of symptoms) and normal subjects underwent a complete ophthalmic examination incl...

Transsynaptic retinal degeneration in optic neuropathies: optical coherence tomography study.

PURPOSE Recently demonstrated neuronal loss in the inner nuclear layer of the retina in multiple sclerosis (MS) and glaucoma raises the question of a primary (possibly immune-mediated) or secondary (transsynaptic) mechanism of retinal damage in these diseases. In the present study we used optical coherence tomography to investigate retrograde retinal transsynaptic degeneration in patients with ...

Correlation between Visual Acuity and Optical Coherence Tomography-Measured Retinal Thickness in Diabetic Macular Edema

Background and Objective: Diabetic macular edema (DME) is one of the common complications of diabetes which significantly accounts for preventable visual impairment and blindness. Central macular thickness (CMT) is a feature found in DME patients. This study aims to determine the relationship between optical coherence tomography (OCT)-measured CMT and visual acuity (VA) in patients with DME bef...
